Vinyl floor layers now have a new tool in their arsenal thanks to the innovative Roberts Cove Trimmer 10-690 developed by QEP Australia.
The Roberts Cove Trimmer 10-690 cuts coved commercial vinyl at a certain height fast and evenly, without the use of a straight edge.
“Time is money and this tool will save time when installing coved commercial vinyl or simply marking a glue line when installing PVC skirting,” QEP’s Roberts product manager Ugo Tettamanti said.
A Melbourne-based commercial flooring installer approached QEP Australia with an idea ripe for development, QEP Australia recognized the necessity for this type of tool in the market and began an in-house design and development project headed by Tettamanti.
“This product has been in development for two years,” Tettamanti said.
“Working with an overseas manufacturing company we were faced with a few challenges that were overcome with lots of patience and modern digital and 3D printing technologies.
“Field trials were done with working prototypes which allowed us to modify this tool on the go.”
Cutting at heights of either 100mm or 150mm can quickly and easily be set up on the Roberts Cove Trimmer 10-690.
The new tool also features an ergonomic two-way handle, ensuring it can comfortably be used by both left and right handed installers.
The Roberts Cove Trimmer 10-690 is available now at all AFS Branches. Find your local branch’s contact details here.
